Board Members Needed for Lamont Public Library

The Lamont Public Library is in need of Board Members.

The Library depends on citizens like you to be involved making certain its’ services are providing for the needs of the community.

               The Lamont Public Library Board of Trustees is made up of (5) members who are appointed by the Mayor.  The Board is a policy making board whom guides the growth of the libraries’ services. Board terms are for a period of 6 years. The Board meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the Library.

               Active trustees bring to the library an awareness of the community and an eagerness to regularly maintain and build up the library and its services to the public. It is essential that you are willing to dedicate your time and skills, be open-minded and imaginative and to be a positive representative of the library board as well as a supporter of the library.

               Members of the library board control funds and expenditures, determine and adopt written policy and an annual budget, review monthly financial statements and approve expenditures, provide record keeping and documentation, develop long term plans as well as selecting and supervising a library director.
