The City of Lamont Iowa is offering to the public a 2000 Sterling L7500 Dump truck, plow and sander to be sold by sealed bids. Contact the Lamont City Hall at 563-924-2194 to request a bid packet. Contact Lamont Director of Public Works Paul Lincoln at 563-924-2068 to request viewing of the truck, sander, and plow and for any questions. Sealed bid must be returned to the Lamont City Hall by 5pm November 11, 2026   

CONDITIONS OF BIDDING: BIDS: Only one bid per envelope. Each bid shall be in a sealed Envelope. Envelope shall be clearly marked with words, “SEALED BID”. Each bid envelope shall be dropped off at the Lamont City Hall or mailed to City of Lamont, PO Box 240, Lamont Iowa, 50650. Bids must be received by 5:00pm on November 11, 2026.

ITEM CONDITION: The above item advertised by the City of Lamont for sale by sealed bid is sold As-Is. The City of Lamont makes no warranty of the condition of the equipment nor accuracy of the item description. Each Bidder(s) shall be responsible for verifying condition and accuracy of item prior to submitting a bid.

INSPECTION: The above item advertised by the City of Lamont for sale by sealed bid can be viewed in person at the City of Lamont shop by calling Paul Lincoln, Public Works Director at 563-924-2068 to schedule a time to view it and ask questions. 

TERMS OF SALE: The successful bidder shall be provided a written Notice of Award within 5 business days after Bid Closing Date. The successful bidder shall make full payment with cash or cashier’s check made payable to the City of Lamont and shall arrange to pick-up the item within 10 business days from date of Notice of Award.

DEFAULT OF SALE: If payment is not made within the timeline provided bidder shall forfeit their claim to the item and shall not be eligible to bid on future items. Any item not picked up within the timeline provided shall forfeit their claim to the item, and payment for item may be retained, in whole or in part, by the city for damages. If bidder forfeits claim to item bid, the City may, at its discretion, offer the item to the next highest bidder.

City of Lamont rights: the City request a $23,000.00 minimum bid amount and reserves the right to go below this minimum bid amount if the council chooses so. The City of Lamont retains the right to remove the above item offered for sale from sale at any time up to the Notice of Award should the City determine the sale of the item is not in its best interests. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or to waive any irregularities or defects found therein.
